I founded Barnes Accounting Group in early 2022 with the purpose of using my wide-ranging expertise to bring professional, CPA-level service to businesses in the Chattanooga area.

Before starting Barnes Accounting Group, I led a successful and diverse career in Chattanooga. I began by interning for a large accounting firm in Chattanooga and then for the Department of Revenue, all while obtaining a B.S. in Accounting and Finance at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.

After school, I worked for a small public accounting firm where I specialized in assurance and tax services for clients in the manufacturing, real estate, and contracting industries, just to name a few. During which, I obtained my CPA license.

After a few years in public accounting, I was hired as a controller at a major foodservice distributor in town, where I gained valuable industry experience and was later promoted to CFO.

Outside of work, I enjoy going on adventures with my dogs, working in my woodshop, and cheering for the Vols on Saturday.
